FLU NEWS YOU CAN USE

You might be sick of hearing about the flu, but a recent study undertaken at Purdue University estimates that 63% of the U.S. population will be infected. Here at Tips, we'd rather our AOL members get sick of hearing about the flu than actually get sick with the flu. There are strong opinions all over the Web regarding everything from vaccines to remedies, so we've pulled together all our flu resources to help you make informed decisions.

Medications and Prevention -- there are several drugs available to help prevent and treat the flu, but these medicines don't always help. What else can actually help prevent getting the flu and what is just a myth?

Vaccines -- concerns about the safety of vaccinations seem to be growing. What are all the pros and cons to getting a vaccine? One big concern is that the vaccine will actually give you the flu -- read what the experts say. If you decide to get a vaccine, which type is right for you?

Coping With the Flu(s) -- what is the seasonal flu? And what is H1N1? What if the symptoms keep coming back? If you think you have the flu, when do you see a doctor? If you don't have a primary care physician, use this helpful Doctor Finder. And keep up-to-date on breaking flu vaccines, news and announcements with AOL Health News.

FINANCIAL PLANNING AT ANY AGE

Now that the economy is showing signs of recovery, we're all rethinking how to better plan for retirement at any age. WalletPop has plenty of tips to help you prepare, cash in and make the most of your retirement savings. For example, more than 50 million Americans receive monthly Social Security benefits, but these benefits could go down in 2010. Even if Social Security is only one piece of your overall retirement nest egg, it's important that you make the most of it. Check out these little-known strategies to maximize your social security.

If you have a Web enabled device, you can find great restaurants, check movie listings, get the latest gossip at TMZ and more. Send your cell phone the link to AOL's mobile portal with the send to cell button on our mobile page.
Pop quiz -- what's the difference between a hardware firewall and a software firewall? Follow up question: which one do you need? Choose the wrong one and you could wind up spending far more money than necessary. Find out more about firewalls, what they do, why you need one and which one you need.

"Cash for Clunkers" may be over, but there are still great ways to save on new cars. The best deals are available at the end of the month and the year, so start looking now.
