I was late for work this morning so I was a leaning a little heavily on the gas pedal. I passed a cop who had pulled over an extremely irate looking driver. They guy was arguing dramatically with the cop and I was thinking about it as I kept going, wondering what the big deal was. I suddenly remembered the new fines and penalties that the state of Virginia had recently adopted and I immediately eased off the gas. Getting to work on time is one thing, but it doesn't matter much if I end up having to fork my entire paycheck over to the state to do so. When I did eventually make it to the office, I found some other helpful tips for avoiding speeding tickets. Apparently Virginia isn't the only bad state for speeding tickets so I'll also include these hints on what to do when you're pulled over.
